Relocation & Move Management

Relocation & Move-In Ready

Moving home involves far more than getting your belongings from one address to another.

First Guest can bring the agreed domestic moving parts together as one managed project, combining practical work, planning, sourcing and coordination where required.

A move-in service, even when removals are already arranged

Move-In Ready

You have the keys and the boxes. First Guest helps with the next stage: unpacking, setting up kitchens, wardrobes and bedrooms, organising belongings into the available storage and making the essentials ready to use. Book focused practical help without commissioning a fully managed relocation.

Optional services such as cleaning, furniture assembly, deliveries or additional trade work can be discussed, scoped and quoted separately through independent providers where appropriate. The amount we can complete depends on the size and readiness of the property and the time booked.

More than a removal service

Getting your belongings there is only part of the move.

There is sorting before packing, decisions about what stays and what goes, boxes, labels, removals, access, cleaners, deliveries, furniture, purchases, timings and the practical work between leaving one functioning home and establishing the next.

Depending on the scope, First Guest can support one stage or manage the practical domestic relocation from preparation at your existing home through to setting up the new one.

The objective isn’t simply to move your possessions. It’s to move your life from one functioning home to another.

Before the move

A smoother move starts before the boxes do.

The work completed before moving day has a direct effect on everything that follows.

01 / Edit before you move

We work through relevant areas and establish what is moving and what isn’t. Items can be separated for keeping, donation, disposal, sale or another agreed destination. This reduces unnecessary packing and makes the eventual setup easier.

02 / Organise what is staying

Related belongings are considered in sensible categories. This creates the foundation for logical packing and unpacking and helps identify valuables, documents, special-handling items and essentials that need to remain accessible.

03 / Build the move plan

I establish the practical sequence around the work First Guest has been asked to manage: key dates, access, packing, removals, cleaning, deliveries, agreed suppliers, priorities at the new home and outstanding client decisions.

04 / Pack with the unpacking in mind

Where packing forms part of the scope, I work methodically by room and category with clear destination-based labelling. Priority items can be identified separately so what you need first does not disappear into a wall of boxes.

05 / Coordinate the moving parts

Where included, I can coordinate agreed arrangements with removal companies, cleaners, trades, storage providers, delivery teams or other independent suppliers, keeping track of what needs to happen next.

06 / Prepare for the new home

We can identify what the new household will need, what transfers from the existing home and what needs sourcing. Suitable options can be presented for approval and agreed deliveries incorporated into the wider plan.

One move. One plan.

You shouldn’t have to become a project manager because you’re moving house.

For a larger relocation, individual tasks are only part of the value. Someone also needs to understand how those tasks connect.

First Guest can sit at the centre of the agreed domestic relocation scope, keeping track of the practical work and personally delivering the elements that fall within my service. Specialist services remain with the appropriate independent supplier.

Your proposal establishes scope, responsibilities, costs and supplier arrangements before the project begins.

Moving day

Protecting the plan around the physical move.

Not every First Guest relocation requires moving-day involvement. Where it does, my role is defined around the practical domestic plan agreed beforehand: agreed access, directing belongings according to the room plan, communicating around agreed deliveries or suppliers, identifying priority boxes and dealing with practical issues within the First Guest remit.

The purpose is not to duplicate the removal company’s job. It is to protect the plan around it.

At the new home

Delivery isn’t the finish line.

The removal van leaving does not mean the relocation is finished. First Guest can take the move beyond delivery and into functioning home.

01 / Establish priorities

I start with what the household needs to function and work through the home in a deliberate order rather than opening every box at once.

02 / Kitchen setup

Belongings are unpacked, categorised and organised around how the kitchen is used. Everyday items need accessible homes; occasional items do not need prime storage.

03 / Bedrooms & wardrobes

Clothing and personal belongings can be unpacked and organised into available storage, with additional solutions sourced only where they genuinely improve the room.

04 / Bathrooms, utility & storage

Bathrooms, utility areas, linen storage, cleaning supplies and general household storage can be established so everyday items have sensible permanent homes.

05 / Furniture & room setup

Where included, I can help establish practical furniture placement around how each room needs to function.

06 / Sourcing & outstanding purchases

Where sourcing forms part of the project, I can identify what is genuinely needed, research suitable options and seek approval before purchasing or arranging agreed orders.

07 / Deliveries & suppliers

Agreed deliveries, installations and appointments can be incorporated into the project plan so they happen in a sensible sequence.

08 / Organisation systems

Organisation reflects the people living there: what is used, how often, where it is used and what is realistic to maintain.

09 / Final practical details

The small unfinished jobs are often what make a move feel as though it is still happening. Where they fall within scope, I work through them towards the agreed finish line.

The finish line

The difference between having moved and being moved in.

You can find what you need. The kitchen is operational. Bedrooms are usable. Clothes have homes. Bathrooms and storage make sense. Everyday essentials are accessible. Outstanding practical work within the project has been dealt with.

That is what First Guest is designed to help you reach.

How much can First Guest handle?

As much or as little as the project requires.

Pre-move support

Editing belongings, organisation, packing, labelling, move preparation and agreed supplier coordination.

Move-in support

Unpacking, organisation, kitchen and wardrobe setup, storage, sourcing and practical home setup.

Full relocation & move management

For clients who want one person maintaining oversight of the agreed domestic move from preparation at the existing property through to setup of the new home.

Experience behind the service

Relocation isn’t a new idea added to a list of services.

First Guest grew from more than 18 years of work in and around people’s homes. My background includes running a residential services business, private household and household-management work, property support, home organisation and practical responsibility for household relocations.

Before launching First Guest, I had already been involved in multiple household moves, including moves within London and a London to Northamptonshire relocation. That experience taught me that the physical move is only one part of relocating a household.

Professional structure

Being hands-on doesn’t mean being informal.

For larger projects, the professional structure can include a clear project scope, defined finish line, written quotation or proposal, client agreement, supplier clarity, purchase approvals, project communication, insurance and privacy around your household and belongings.

The systems sit quietly behind the service because handing over responsibility should feel safe as well as convenient.

How your relocation starts

You don’t need to design the service yourself.

01

Tell me what’s happening

Share the basic details, expected dates and where you think you need support.

02

We talk it through

We discuss the properties, household, timescale, priorities and pressure points.

03

Define & scope

We define what “done” means and what First Guest will take responsibility for.

04

Proposal & delivery

You receive the appropriate written proposal or quotation, then I prepare and deliver the agreed work.

Pricing

Every move is different because every household is different.

Larger relocation projects are quoted individually. Your quotation can take into account the size and complexity of the household, properties involved, distance, timescale, preparation, packing and unpacking requirements, hands-on project days, sourcing, supplier coordination, travel and the finish line you want First Guest to deliver.

The aim is to establish what genuinely needs to be taken off your plate and price that scope clearly.

What you’re really buying

Responsibility, practical execution and a clear route from one home to the next.

A relocation can look like a list of jobs: packing, unpacking, organising, sourcing, calling suppliers and arranging deliveries. But the most valuable part is easy to miss.

You are buying back your attention. Instead of carrying the entire domestic move in your head, there is a plan. Instead of every practical problem becoming another task for you, there is someone responsible for the agreed work.
